The three OEE factors
Availability: run time ÷ planned time. Performance: actual output ÷ output at ideal cycle time. Quality: good parts ÷ parts produced.
An OEE of 85% is the world-class benchmark, but the number is only useful when compared with itself over time, on the same machine.
Frequently asked questions
What is the OEE formula?
OEE = availability × performance × quality. Each factor is a percentage between 0 and 100%.
What is a good OEE?
85% is the world-class benchmark. Many plants run between 40% and 60%; what matters is the trend on the same machine.
